April Mawhinney launched her label Little Red Designs in December 2005.

Little Red Designs specialises in creating handmade leather purses, iPhone Cosies & leather Kindle Covers by combining sumptuous leathers with handprinting techniques and beautiful fabrics.

All pieces are designed, handmade and printed the UK studio. Little Red Designs takes pride in their high level of knowledge & expertise in leatherworking, with each item being beautifully handcrafted for each customer.

Little Red Designs only creates items which they hope will be loved & treasured,  either by you or that someone special!

About April Mawhinney

Born & raised: Co Armagh, Northern Ireland

Lives: Hampshire, England, UK.

Likes: Dogs faces, sushi, the sea and laughing

Dislikes: People who are late, rudeness and over-ripe bananas.

April Mawhinney was born in Northern Ireland in 1979.  She has studied at the University of Ulster, the Oslo National Academy of the Arts in Norway and Winchester School of Art, completing a BA (Hons) in Textile Art specialising in screen printing techniques.

After her degree, April worked as a Textile Designer in Northern Ireland designing printed fabrics. Later returning to Hampshire, April turned her attentions to creating handbags and accessories.

In 2005, Little Red Designs was launched and in 2006 April won a residency at the prestigious Arches studios in Southampton. She now lives in Hampshire, England, UK.
